APOLLO 780
The Apollo 780 is very user friendly, operating totally automatically. The unit will pickup a unique code form one of the transponder fobs via an aerial hidden behind the ignition lock of the vehicle. If no fob is detected the vehicle will not start.

Transponder Technology Is now standard on all EEC supplied vehicles. It works by a tiny electronic chip imbedded in the plastic part of the ignition key. When the ignition is switched on with the key the vehicles ECU sends a signal to the chip which must respond with a certain code (which can be randomly encrypted) if there is a wrong responce or no responce code the EEC will not let the engine start. The chip in the key is completely passive, meaning that there is no built in battery or moving parts, it gets its power from the signal sent by the ECU. For vehicles without this technology you can now add the Apollo 780. |
