1976 Yamaha DT400B
This Bike Has Been Sold
This is a beautifully restored 1976 Yamaha DT400B correct in every detail with the exception of the paint known as Yamaha Portuguese Orange which was only available on the 250cc version. I also have the highly sought after satin black tank in excellent condition (not quite concours) and an oil tank (requires respraying) which may replace these items (both not included in the sale). The DT400B is a very rare beast indeed only imported for about a model year between 1976 & 1977 being replaced by some say the superior handling & not so pretty MX model. Fitted with the largest two stroke single engine ever made by Yamaha you'd expect the bike to be a bit of a peaky wheelie machine, peaky the engine ain't but wheelie machine describes it perfectly. The engine has a smooth power delivery combined with a flat torque curve which will pull you out of any quagmire though I hasten to add this bike will never see a puddle let alone a muddy ditch, not in my hands anyway (fair weather biker). This bike is in concours condition & ready to show.
